Bogota Airport to city bus

Bus tends to be the safest and cheapest way to move from Bogota Airport to the city centre and the most used way of transport by locals.

To be able to transfer between Bogota Airport to downtown by bus, we present you the following options:

TRANSMILENIO

A proper way to transfer from Bogota Airport to downtown is by Transmilenio since it is the bus rapid transit (BRT) system.

In order to use a Transmilenio bus line, first you need to take a Alimentador (feeder) from any of the two airport terminals. The proper Feeder line is Ruta Alimentadora 16-14 Aeropuerto.

The Feeder is a free of charge green bus with the Transmilenio letters printed on it which links the airport facilities with Portal Eldorado station, where there are located Transmilenio buses that departs to several Bogota destinations.

Opening hours: From 05:00 am to 11:45 pm (Monday to Saturday), from 06:00 am to 10:45 pm (Sundays and public holidays).

Once at Portal Eldorado station, before entering to it, it is compulsory to purchase a Tullave card in order to pick any of Transmilenio buses. The staff will ask for either your ID card or passport since you’ll need to fill a form in case you just need one-way trip, so make sure you have your documentation on hand.

After this step, you need to board the Transmilenio bus line no.1. You’ll recognize them as they are coloured in red. This bus links Portal Eldorado to Las Aguas (Portal Eldorado – Universidades).

Opening hours: From 04:30 am to 11:00 pm (Monday to Friday), From 05:00 am to 11:00 pm (Saturday), and from 05:30 am to 10:00 pm (Sunday and public holidays).

Also, K86 Transmilenio line (Aeropuerto el Dorado – Fundación Santa Fe) can also bring to the city centre, since it is a dual bus line – that means you can take a Feeder to Portal Eldorado).

Opening hours: From 05:30 am to 11:00 pm (Monday to Friday), from 06:00 am to 11:00 pm (Saturday), and from 07:00 am to 10:00 pm (Sunday and public holidays).

Location

Find the Feeder in front of any of the two airport terminals.

The Transmilenio buses are all located in Portal Eldorado station, which is located outside the airport premises.

Fares

The Feeder is free of charge, while the Transmilenio cost for a single ride to the city centre is of COP 2,000.

You can buy your ticket before getting into Portal Eldorado station.

Public Transport

Urban Route P500

P500 bus line (Aeropuerto Eldorado – Centro Andino), you can transfer between the Bogota Airport terminals to the city centre.

Opening hours: From 04:00 am to 10:00 pm (Monday to Saturday), and from 05:00 am to 10:00 pm (Sunday and public holidays).

Location

Ride this bus line outside the first level of Terminal 1, in exit 7.

Fares

The payment method for this bus line is by Tullave card. Without the Tullave card, the single ride is COP 1,7000. Where can I buy my ticket?

In order to ride this bus line, you need to possess a Tullave card, which can be purchase in the SITP counters in the Arrivals Hall.

Public Transport buses “Busetas”

You can take one of the several public transport lines that joints Bogota Airport with several destinations in Bogota. They are buses and mini buses.

Opening hours: From 06:00 am to 20:00 pm.

Location

You can ride them outside the first level of Terminal 1, in exit 9, they stop at Paradero (bus stop).

For further information regarding fares, ask to the driver. Ticket also need to be purchased on board. Only cash allowed.
